Ross Broxup (Captain)

Ross Broxup

(Team Captain)

Home town: Sacriston, County Durham

First set: Magic 2015, although before discovering paper magic I played a lot of Duels of the Planeswalkers for Xbox.

Favourite deck: Grishoalbrand. Who doesn’t love combo decks that can fire a sweet turn two kill 10-20% of the time!?

Favourite format: Limited. As much as I love playing Grisels, my heart belongs to crafting 40-card decks!

Proudest magic-related achievement: It’s split between taking England to day two of the World Cup 2017 and being a finalist of English Nationals 2017. I can’t choose!

Aims for the future: My aim is to get back to the highest level and play the best players in the world, to improve my ability and understanding of the game.

Ceri Taylor (Vice-captain)

Ceri Taylor

Favourite format: Standard

Proudest magic-related achievement: Day 2'ing GP Warsaw on 7-2 after a loooonngg run of GP 5-4s!

Aims for the future: To keep learning and improving. To be a positive role model encouraging more women to get into competitive Magic. And longer term, to make it to the pro tour.

Aims for the future: My 2018 goal is to achieve stronger and more consistent GP results.

Brendan Edwards

Brendan Edwards

First set: Magic Origins

Favourite deck: Mardu Vehicles. The deck has led me to success in a few different tournaments.

Favourite format: Standard and Limited

Proudest magic-related achievement: Top 8 English Nationals 2017, but finishing 33rd at GP Warsaw 2017 and my first ‘cash’ was sweet too.

Aims for the future: Qualify for the pro tour! Smaller aims include winning more PPTQs, doing well at GPs, and generally improving and enjoying Magic.
