Seller stories

What was your main motivation to start selling magic cards on LilianaMarket?

Gamerz Nexus: We were having some small success selling via our website and via other marketplaces but we wanted somewhere that was really UK focused and had the potential to reach a lot of players. One of our players mentioned LilianaMarket and we liked the clean look. Sales have been really good and the growth has been phenomenal.

How do you make sure your customers have a great buying experience?

Gamerz Nexus: We try and ship out every order either same day (if we receive it before 2.30pm) or next day. We don't always manage to get out same day due to a variety of reasons but that is generally our number one goal, we assume that players want there cards as soon as possible and try to ensure that. Besides, we use a mixture of top loaders and cardboard to make sure the cards stay well protected.

What’s been the most expensive card you’ve sold so far on LilianaMarket?

Gamerz Nexus: I think a Karn Liberated has been the most expensive so far.

And the most random?

Gamerz Nexus: Hmmm, if it was one thing that selling singles has taught me is that no card is truly random! I sell a lot of commons which are quite clearly for people's pet decks that you never see in any kind of talk on the Internet.

Any tips or advice for new sellers that join LilianaMarket?

Gamerz Nexus: Make sure you’re selling cards for the right price, taking into account the time that as a game store you put into it. On a different note, getting all our cards up on LilianaMarket has been a rather slow process: we have around 140K singles listed and we’re still only about half way through, but we’re getting there!

What was your main motivation to start selling magic cards on LilianaMarket?

Jacksonr1023 I was looking to sell all my cards after hastily throwing the towel in with the game, so I was looking to find somewhere that would buy them all. Luckily after a Google search I found LilianaMarket. I am back to playing again but really enjoy thinning my collection down. I enjoy playing sealed/draft most of all and I had spent a ridiculous amount of money on them at one point, so knowing that I could thin my cards, still play and even make some money was great. I can now skip off to my local play space with cash my hubby doesn’t need to know about 😊

How do you make sure your customers have a great buying experience?

Jacksonr1023 I try to get cards out in the post ASAP and I try to keep a supply of do not bend envelopes & sleeves to hand. I basically consider what I would like to receive. One thing I have always done and always will is make sure no one over pays for postage; there is nothing worse than paying for something only to discover you need to add one more item to your order, so I always refund extra postage.

I also find storing my cards properly is important so that I can find my cards in a timely fashion – that was a lesson hard learned as I would often put things in safe places meaning it took an extra day to find.

What’s been the most expensive card you’ve sold so far on LilianaMarket?

Jacksonr1023 If only my collection included expensive cards 😊 I think the most expensive card I’ve sold so far was a copy of Doubling Season.

And the most random?

Jacksonr1023 I’m not sure about what the most random card I have sold is... I love seeing what people buy though when they buy a large quantity of cards, I love imagining what decks they are building.

Any tips or advice for new sellers that join LilianaMarket?

Jacksonr1023 I have converted a few of my play buddies into sellers & buyers on the site – I always tell them to just go for it and enter unwanted cards for sale. The site is so easy to navigate and it’s so easy to add cards to your inventory that it is almost idiot proof. I also use the site for trading with friends – as you can access your full inventory of cards when you are out and about it’s easy to check you have a card for trading. I even use it when I’m deck building so that I can check if I have the cards I need.

Another thing to say about the site is that the community is so nice, the buyers and sellers I speak to are generally great people. I even at times message buyers who I know may appreciate certain cards I have pulled in a game.
